1. Elsey MORGAN was born in 1825 in Burkesville, Cumberland Co., Kentucky, USA. He died in 1863. He was refered to as Morgan in his home town.

During the time of the American Civil War Elsey Morgan had been mistaken for General John Hunt Morgan, the Confederate raider, and was shot in the back (murdered) in his home town by a Federal Soldier who was later tried and convicted for murder.

He was married to Louisa Belle. Elsey MORGAN and Louisa Belle had the following children:

+4 iii. Drucilla MORGAN.
+5 iv. Geraldine D. MORGAN.
6 v. Naomi MORGAN was born in 1853. It was reported that in 1891 Naomi had been married for 30 years and had raised a 'large' family.
7 vi. Lingreon MORGAN was born in 1855. He died in Jan 1931. Went by the nickname Ling
8 vii. Mollie MORGAN was born in 1859. She died in 1878.
